Magnificent Mermaids

The Mermaids kicked off the summer with their favorite field trip, Adventure Quest. The Mermaids love beating the Poseidon at laser tag. We also took a canoe trip down Bayou St. John. Zara, Alexis, and Grace especially enjoyed paddling around. Hopefully next time they will have their paddling skills toned in. "The Purples" have returned for one last summer as Mermaids. Anna, Mallory, Maddie, and Madison really enjoyed the flag football game that we picked up with the Army folks. Whitney had two touchdown receptions, but no one was more intense than Katie. She brought her game face, and it was on. The second week of camp brought us to the WWII Museum, and the Mermaids learned a lot. Grace and Chuck got a real kick out of it snowing on them in the theatre.

The Ripples swim team kicked off in the second week, and Taylor and Ireland were the first to sign up. One of the Mermaids’ favorite activities is Newcomb. Colleen had a pretty hot streak, but Dashawna was finally able to knock her out. We also took a field trip to the bowling alley where Sade almost bowled a turkey! Caroline and Natalie joined us mid session and, as usual, Natalie jumped right back into the pool with Coach Patrick. Caroline and Deishae really enjoy our relaxing time in Arts and Crafts. As always, there are a few Mermaids who really get into the Sorry tournaments. Maddie, Mag-pie and Laura almost gave Coach Tiff a run for her money. This session has been nothing but fun for the Mermaids. We are so excited about next session and the fun that awaits!!
