Only in New Orleans. Only at Tulane.
As the summer approached, the coaches had no doubt this summer at Ripples would be a load of fun and excitement with the adventures Ripples 2010 would bring. Summer with the Sea Lions so far has been nothing less than supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
With trips to Audubon Zoo, Colonial Bowling, Airline Skate Center, and the Insectarium, the Sea Lions have had an adventurous time so far. But some of the best times these campers have had have been on our very own courts at the Reily Center.
During the first week of camp, the sport of the week was basketball. Hugh, Javonte, and Will might as well be in the NBA, because they sure can shoot the rock. Maybe we have some future Hornets on our hands??? Gregory and Blake have been the track stars of the Sea Lions. Everybody also had a great time when the Sea Lions participated in relays up on the track or out in the field.
James has showed our campers what sportsmanship is all about! He always has a positive attitude and is always willing to participate in any sport at Ripples. James and Chase have been awesome players when it comes down to battleball with the Sea Lions.
Everyday, the Sea Lions have a blast at swimming. Andrew, Beach, and Sidney have impressed the aquatics staff and their coaches with their amazing swimming skills. One of the Sea Lions’ favorite activities is the climbing wall. Meltris and Michael Q. used all of their strength and might to climb all the way to the top of the wall.
The Sea Lions competed with each other in games of Newcomb this session. Clark and John took over the game and wowed everybody with their beastly skills. Baseball and kickball were also fun activities the Sea Lions have gotten to play. Wade and Michael W. rocked the court and scored tons of runs!
As the World Cup neared, the boys brought their soccer excitement and enthusiasm to camp with them. Oscar, Drew, and Max radiated the field during the Sea Lions’ soccer games … might as well be on the US team! From futbol to… yeah, football! It’s been a highlight of the Sea Lions time at camp. Clay, Brandon, and David brought the BLACK-N-GOLD swag to the field. WHO DAT!!!
As the session ended, the Sea Lions had an awesome time at the Ripples Carnival. This session has been a blast! We can't wait to have just as much fun next session!
