The Tubular Turtles

The Turtles group has gotten off to an amazing start this summer! We are so excited to have so many new faces join us, as well as those who are returning for a second year with the turtles. Whenever we went biking, it was always Dennis W. and Christopher P. who lead the group. On the soccer field, it was Scout H. and Bryant C. who were showing off their world cup skill. However, when Samuel D. was in the goal, their skills were no match for his impressive blocking abilities. Even Coach Chris couldn't score on Sam! When walking around at the Children’s Museum with Coach Andrew, all Williams H. and Owen M. could talk about for the rest of the day was the variety of sights they had enjoyed! The fastest turtles were Nicholas J. and Peyton W. They made even Coach Brett gasp at their amazing speed around the indoor track. The turtles who were most agile were none other than Tatham P., Khai J., and Joshua T. Coach Cameron had a hard time trying to get them out. Once swimming rolled around each day, Harriss T. and Cohen C. were always first in line at the pool. You would really think they were sea turtles the way they splashed their way across the pool. Of all of our field trips, the Audubon Zoo was among our campers’ favorite! Kearney N. and Michael H. had a blast walking around, seeing all the animals with Coach Jonathan. The trip to the bowling center was a nice treat. Cody B. and Jack C. gave an overconfident Coach Ross a run for his money. Floor hockey was Elijah P.’s favorite sport. He was a natural and scored the winning goal against Luke K., who had blocked all other shots … even Coach Alex’s knuckle puck. Burke B. and Matthew S. played as their respective team’s last man in Newcomb. It seemed the game would never end. Andrew S. and Alexander G. showed Coach Jared that even 5 year olds can dunk on a basketball goal. Even though this is just a portion of all the wonderful things we have been apart of this summer, these are the highlights! The Turtles Coaches look forward to next session and hope that everyone, even the parents, enjoyed being at Ripples this summer!
