The Department of Campus Recreation invites students and staff alike to boost their metabolism, wellness, and confidence by participating in our 50+ FREE Group Exercise classes offered weekly! Not sure what type of class you’d like to take or unsure of a class name? Fitness FUN-damentals Monthly Workshops

If you are a group fitness participant looking to improve or modify technique, these classes are for you! Once a month we’ll feature a different class format on the schedule and host a workshop that will provide the tools you need to make your workout work for you. Dates & times will be available on our website ( as well as our social media sites.

September || Strength & Stretch with Shanda || Monday, September 17th || 12:00-12:45pm
This workshop will educate participants on recommendations for strength training and stretching. Participants will learn how often to implement stretching and strength training into their workout routine, as well as proper form and techniques to ensure that you are getting the most from your workout.

October || Yoga Technique & Arm Balances with Chloe || Wednesday, October 17th || 5:15-6:15pm
Whether you are a beginner or advanced in your practice, this workshop will work to improve your practice through guiding you through the best and safest approaches to arm balances and various other yoga techniques.

November || Simply Cycle with Cecilia || Monday, November 5th || 5:30-6:30pm
Learn how to get the most out of your indoor cycling by going back to the basics in this informative cycling workshop. Participants will learn about proper bike set up, basic cycling terminology, and strategies to improve the overall cycling experience.

December || Just Dance with Mark || Sunday, December 2nd || 6:00-7:30pm
Go back to dance basics with this workshop! Participants will learn basic moves like the grapevine and box step. Various dance styles like Zumba and Vixen will also be demonstrated, to show participants how dance can spice up your workout routine.

Custom Fitness Class

Creating your own fitness class is a perfect way for groups to get fit and have fun together!  Campus Rec fitness instructors will teach a personalized class at the Reily Center or at your on-campus location. To set up a custom fitness class, please complete our custom class request form or email

Registration Fee: 
1 – 25 participants: $45 / hour
26 – 50 participants: $55 / hour
51 – 75 participants: $65 / hour

Silver Sneakers® Fitness Program & Active Older Adult 50+

The SSFP is a fun, energizing program that helps older adults take greater control of their health.  It is offered in partnership with select health plans at no additional cost to Medicare-eligible members.  The AOA50+ program is designed to address the needs of more active older adults. AOA50+ classes emphasize low impact, moderate intensity, slow and controlled movement, core stabilization & proper alignment in order to provide a safe and effective workout.
