Department of Campus Recreation

The Department of Campus Recreation has a long and rich history of serving the Tulane University community. Our programs and services are among the most popular and participated in on campus. Engaging over 4,000 students annually, programs include Intramural Sports, Club Sports, Fitness and Wellness, Instructional Programs, Aquatics and Outdoor Recreation. The facilities managed by Campus Recreation include the 156,000 square foot Reily Student Recreation Center, the Reily outdoor tennis courts, a synthetic turf field and 5 university quads. Leadership and management of the facilities and programs is provided by a full time professional staff of 23 and a part-time student staff of approximately 200, which makes Campus Recreation the largest student employer on campus.

Campus Recreation supports the university's mission of being student centered and learning focused, by offering a wide array of recreational sports opportunities, while supporting the personal and professional development of our students. Participation in Campus Recreation programs enhances an individual's social, physical and psychological well being, builds community, creates a sense of belonging and shapes lasting memories.

Mission Statement

The Department of Campus Recreation encourages personal growth by providing recreational and wellness opportunities to the Tulane community. We are committed to creating an environment which fosters the physical and social development of students, lifelong learning, respect, and cultural diversity.
